Laurie Melanson (Kaiser) GRANDE DIGUE, NB - Mr. Laurie Melanson (Kaiser), husband of Huberte Melanson (LeBlanc), of Sunshine Drive, Grande Digue, NB, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Monday, March 31, 2003. Born in Moncton on August 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Edgar Melanson, Moncton and the late Agnès LeBlanc, St. Paul-de-Kent. He was a contractor throughout his life. He retired in 2000. He attended La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande Digue and was a member of the Golden Age Club and the Knights of Columbus #7535. He was also a member of the Slow Pokes Hockey Team and very much involved in Minor Hockey in the Moncton area. He is survived by his wife Huberte; two daughters, Janice Melanson (Paul Landry) of Victoria, BC, Monique Desroches of Moncton; one son, Pierre Melanson (Lisa Spurr) of Moncton; two sisters, Thérese Melanson of Moncton and Jeanette Christie (Ken) of Moncton; two brothers, Norman Melanson (Thérese) of Grande Digue and Emery Melanson (Jackie) of Grande Digue; eight grandchildren. He is resting at Coopérative Funéraire Passage Funeral Co-operative 532-1050 with visitation on Wednesday, April 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday from 9:30 am until time of departure. Funeral Mass will be held at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande Digue on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 11:00 am. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Grande Digue at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
