September 3, 1937 - August 3, 2008. Passed away peacefully at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008, in the arms of his loving wife and family, Stanley Smith of Dildo, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his parents; Minnie and Silas Smith, infant sister, and his brother in law, Eric Newhook. Leaving to mourn, with precious memories; his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Louise, two sons, John, Wayne (Judy), two daughters; Elsie (Frankie), Lori (Danny), ten precious grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Stan will also be lovingly remembered by his three sisters and six brothers; Margaret, Lucy (Boyd) Vokey, Janice (Calvin) Reid, Lawrence (Rose), Ron (Rebecca), Alf (Shirley), Sam (Sheila), Ivan (Velma), Baxter (Edith), special friend and fishing buddy, Stan (Beat) Reid, as well as a large number of nephews, nieces other relatives and many friends. Resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation from Monday, August 4th at 8 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from the Salvation Army Citadel TBS Corps on Wednesday, August 6th at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow.
