Sophie Carroll REXTON, NB - Sophie Carroll, 97, widow of James Carroll (1989), of Rexton Lions Nursing Home, Rexton and formerly of Bouctouche passed away at the residence on Tuesday, June 24. 2003 after a brief illness. Born in Bouctouche, NB on November 13, 1905 she was the daughter of the late Clovis Nowlan and Marie LeBlanc. She was a Housewife and she attended Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche. She is survived by seven daughters, Mary Gautreau, Muriel Brison (Emery) both of Moncton, Helen Armstrong of Riverview, Joanne Cormier (Henri), Pauline Despres (Herb), Phyllis LeBlanc (Guy) both of Bouctouche, Bernice Bastarache (Gerard) of Mississauga, ON; two sons, Ralph and Kenneth both of Bouctouche; 27 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sons, Joseph and Cecil; one daughter in infancy; five sisters, Exelda, Rosalie, Helen, Anna, Laurette; two brothers, Antoine, Damas. Resting at Maillet Funeral Home Ltd., Bouctouche with visitation on Thursday, June 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, and Friday from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral service will be held at Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Friday, June 27, 2003 at 11:00 am. Interment in Parish Cemetery.
