TYCHOLIZ - Mary Margaret, peacefully left to be with God on February 18, 2009. She was born July 1, 1921, in Kilwining, SK to Paul and Sophie Skokum (nee Burnas). She attended school in Evergreen School in Kilwining and the Prince Albert Business College. In 1942, she met Peter Tycholiz and they were married November 14, 1943. They lived & farmed in the Meath Park District until moving to Prince Albert in 1973. She enjoyed her time with her family and kept busy working at Craigs and later at Sears. She enjoyed working until her retirement in 1990. Mary devoted her life to her family but nothing exceeded her strong belief, love and devotion to God. She was actively involved in all aspects of church life at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Meath Park and St. George's in Prince Albert where she was a lifetime member of UCWL for well over 50 years. She was very instrumental with Peter in the formation and continuance of the choirs in both parishes. Mary enjoyed the fabulous Christmas and family get-togethers where it was not unusual to serve 40+ relatives & friends in her home. She was a wonderful cook and everyone will remember her delicious meals of perogies, cabbage rolls and all the traditional trimmings. She always gave a helping hand to all people in- need whenever the time arose. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter in 1986; her daughter, Carol Anne in infancy; her parents, Paul & Sophie Skokum; her extended family, John & Theckla Skokum, Anne & Joe Feschuk, Mary & Louis Pender, Nellie & Mike Ewashko, Katie & Ed Semchuk, John Tycholiz, Paul Sass, Mike Rogozinski, and Peter Prystai. She will be remembered by her children Rosalie (Hubert) Link and Barry (Gaile) Tycholiz; grandchildren Carey (Carla), Shawn, Regan (Heather) Painchaud; great grandchildren Lexi, Kalissa, Braden, Taylor, Ashley & Remy; her extended family, Vera (Dave) Woodhouse, Ellen Prystai, Anne Tycholiz, Sophie Sass, Mae Rogozinski and Mike(Jean) Tycholiz; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. She will long be remembered for her kindness and generosity by everyone whose heart she touched throughout her life. She now rests in God's arms and His eternal peace. In lieu of floral tributes, donations can be made to the charity of choice in Mary's memory. Prayer services will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 7:00 PM and the Divine Liturgy Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Both services will be held at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Prince Albert with Rev. Fr. Ivan Nahachewsky as Celebrant.
