Donald Manderson

Donald Manderson 1930 - 2003 Donald Manderson, of Moncton, NB passed away at The War Veterans Health Center on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at the age of 73 years. Born in Moncton, NB on May 28, 1930 he was the son of the late Wilson and Katie (Loggie) Manderson of New Jersey and Moncton, NB. Trained as a paratrooper, he served two tours of duty during the Korean War, after which he was employed by the federal government until his retirement. Don was an avid fisherman, woodsman, bowler and dart player prior to his illness. He is survived by his wife Florence; sons Gary and Luke; daughters, Caroline and Mary Kate, also three grandchildren, all of Pointe De Chene, NB; sisters, Edna (Lewis) Kennedy of Riverview, NB, with whom he resided prior to going into the residence at the DVA Unit at the Dr. G. L. Dumont Hospital, Lois (Bud) MacKay of Moncton, and Joyce Symons of Callender, ON. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Ona, daughter Trudy and brother Lloyd. At his request there will be no visitation or funeral service, cremation will take place. A graveside committal service will be held at The Burnt Church Union Cemetery, Burnt Church, NB on Friday August 8, 2003 at 2pm. In Don's memory, donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society, The Royal Canadian Branch #6, or The DVA Unit at the Dr. G.L. Dumont Hospital.
