GIBBONS, Leonard Joseph- With sad hearts we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and cousin. On Wednesday, February 18, 2009, Leonard left this world in the presence of his family, at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents, Alonzo and Marie, baby brother Pius, and precious granddaughter Anna Laura. He leaves to mourn his loving wife and best friend of 44 years, Evelyn (nee Meaney); one daughter Stephanie (Joe), St. John's; two sons Ross (Lisa), Grande Prairie; Christopher (Lynette), Edmonton; three brothers: Adrian (Mary), Simon
(Frances) and Alonzo; seven sisters: Ellen (Erwin), Anne (Aiden), Pauline (Ed), Gertrude, Margaret (Tim), Sandra (John), Martina (Herb); one uncle Cyril (Betty); five loving grandchildren: Nathan, Lucas, Sara, Nicholas and Clara; and a large circle of relatives and friends, and dedicated caregivers on Pratt Place. Resting at Father Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent's. Visitation on Friday, February 20, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will take place at the regular 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass on Sunday, February 22, 2009 in Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent's. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, St. Vincent's. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Agnes Pratt Home Foundation.
