Marjorie Olive Pelley HALIFAX, NS - Beloved Mother and Grandmother Passes Away - Marjorie Olive (Thompson) Pelley, 81, of Halifax, NS, passed away August 18, 2003 at home. Born June 19, 1922 in Shediac, NB, she was a daughter of the late Gladys and Russell Thompson. She was also predeceased by her sister, Isabel. Marjorie, or "Mrs. P" as she was known to her many friends, was best known for establishing a successful oatcake business in the Maritime region. She was particularly well known on Spring Garden Road for her delicious baked goods, having worked at the Spring Garden Bakery and Café, and DJ's Café. She was the strength and backbone of her family, providing unconditional love, support and understanding to all who knew and loved her. She always had Sunday dinners ready for whoever was able to drop by, and all of her family and friends were always welcome. She is survived by her children, Marilyn, Judy (Jack), Mike and Kevin (Bea); sister, Helen Coster of Moncton; grandchildren, Stephen, Shawn, Sheri-Lynn, Tammy, Tracey, Julie, James and Jerrod; great grandchildren Brianna, Dwayne, Haley, Noah, Taylor, Ryan and Mathew; many nieces and nephews. She will be truly and deeply missed by all of us. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23,2003 at 2pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax, NS. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
