Mary R. Fownes SHEDIAC BRIDGE, NB - Mary R. Fownes, 74, wife of Donald R. Fownes, of Shediac Bridge, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 15, 2003 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, February 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dillon Herron and the late Eva (Scheck) Herron. Mary is survived by her husband Donald R.; her children, Judy Melanson (Jean-Marie) of Dieppe, Patrick Kearns (Sharon) of Shediac Cape, Michael Kearns (Beth) of Dartmouth, NS, Sean Kearns (Shelley) of Moncton, Penny Ferguson (Chris) of Grand Bay, NB; her step-children, Barbara Fownes of Moncton, Liz O'Hanley (Bill) of Shediac Bridge, Kathy Fownes of Metcalfe, ON; her brothers, Maynard A. Herron (Donna) of Red Deer, AB, John D. Herron (Anne) of Calgary, AB; nine grandchildren, Darren, Nicole, Jason, Devon, Roxanne, Sheamus, Mary, Jane and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gifford Kearns; and an infant sister Josephine. By family request, there will be no visitation. Following cremation, a private funeral service will be held at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297). Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Shediac. Donations may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the donor's choice. A special thank you to the staff of the Emergency Dept. and the I. C. U.
