William "Billy" Melanson 1930-2003 SHEDIAC, NB - Billy Melanson, 73, of Villa Providence, Shediac, formerly of Irishtown, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at his residence. Born in Scotch Settlement, he was the son of the late William and Clara (née: Leger) Melanson. Billy was involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Mr. Melanson is survived by three sisters, Jean (late William) Donovan of Irishtown, Anita (late Alyre) Babineau and Georgina (Edward) Donovan, both of Moncton; one brother, Hector of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Irene and Corinne; and by three brothers, Eric, Frank and Ernest. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Friday, October 3, 2003 from 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday from 9:30 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Saint Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church (Irishtown) on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 11 am. Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur Parish Cemetery, Notre Dame, NB. Donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association would be appreciated by the family.
