Stephen Dana Sterling Johnston 1950 - 2003 LABRADOR CITY, PQ - Stephen Dana Sterling Johnston, of Labrador City, Quebec and formerly of Moncton, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, October 12, 2003 at the age of 53 years. Born in Moncton on June 16, 1950 he was the son of Mary (VanBurkirk) and the late Leonard Johnston. He spent the majority of his adult life in Sept Iles, Quebec where he started his career as a Topographical draftsman for Iron Ore Company of Canada. He continued with Ateliers Wood Inc, a fabricating and machining repair company specializing in Locomotives, and moved to Director of Product Development, very recently he relocated to Labrador City where he was excited about starting a new fabricating company venture. Stephen had an enthusiasm for life that knew no bounds. He was an avid musician who was constantly working on his music and a devoted father who spent many hours with his son Jason working on his car. He was involved with Boy Scouts of Canada and The Childrens Wish Foundation. He is survived by only son, Jason (Moncton); his mother, Mary Johnston; sisters, Brenda Palmer (Robert), and Kimberlee LeBlanc (Larry) of Soris PE; his former wife Gisele Gallant; nephew, Adam and niece, Madison; also a special friend, Rachel Sequin. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 from 7 to 9 pm The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Harold MacDonald Officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Donations made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital or to The NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
