Paul B. Blakney SACKVILLE The death of Paul B. Blakney, age 92, of Sackville occurred on Monday, October 20, 2003 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Sackville he was a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Fawcett) Blakney. Paul was co-owner of the Sackville Harness Shop for 30 years. A veteran of World War II he served in the Canadian Navy as a radio repairman and was an avid radio amateur operator since 1938. He was a member of Lebanon Masonic Lodge # 28 F & AM and a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, being church Secretary-Treasurer for many years. Paul will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis (Hicks) Blakney, Sackville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Reynolds and 2 sisters, Arline and Gertrude. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 2 pm, Pastor Barry Todd officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery. Lebanon Masonic Lodge will hold a memorial service on Wednesday at 7: 30 pm. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
