Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, February 22, 2009, of Mrs. Anne Elizabeth Fotheringham (nee Tierney) of Charlottetown, age 72 years. Beloved wife of Norman and dear mother of Cheryl Burns (Doug) Johnston, Donna (Tom) MacLeod, Michelle Burns, Paula Burns, Thane (Sandra) Burns and Allan (Michelle) Burns. Anne is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Hayley, Billy, Tyler, Emily, Jacob and Cheryl Burns; great-grandchildren, Colby Younker and Katelyn Boyles; brothers and sisters, Jules (Mary) Tierney, Clayton (Dorothy, deceased) Tierney, Norman Tierney, Jean (Eric) McGuirk, Lorraine (Terry) Mann, Gloria (Richard) McQuaid, Edward Tierney; sisters-in-law, Edna and Elaine Tierney and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary (Murphy) Tierney and brothers, Eric, Ronnie, Carl and Freddy Tierney. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Thursday morning, then transfered to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I. or the P.E.I.
