
John "Jack" A. Balcom
John "Jack" A. Balcom 1915 - 2003 Jack A. Balcom, 88, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 29, 2003 . Born in Port Dufferin, NS July 12, 1915, he was the son of the late Arthur and May (O'Leary) Balcom. Jack was a retired Commercial Traveler with Lederle Pharmaceutical Company. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church and a member of BPO Elks Moncton Lodge #229, he was also a 50 year member of Keith Lodge #23 F.&AM and a member of U.C.T. He had attended the Halifax Academy and served with the Royal Canadian Army during W.W.II. He is survived by daughters, Judy (Russell) Dulong of Nictaux, NS, and Susan Balcom of Moncton; son, John Patrick "Pat" (Jeanne) Balcom of St. Anselme; grandchildren, Alisha and Kelsie-Annie Balcom and John and Katie Dulong and Ann and by a great grand-daughter, Grace. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Annie M. (Delaney) in March 2001. A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Memorial Chapel, Moncton on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 11:00 am with Rev. Fr. Rufus Onyewuchi officiating. Interment will in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Diabetic Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
