Mrs. Mona E. Kingston 1908-2003 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mrs. Mona E. Kingston, a gracious lady, widow of the late Fraser A. Kingston, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, passed away at her residence, on Sunday, December 28, 2003, at the age of 95. Born in Chatham, on April 15, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Janet (England) MacFarlane. She was born and raised on Middle Island and passed on to her children her many fond memories of the history of Middle Island. Mona was a valued contributor to the writing of the book, "Middle Island Before and After The Tragedy". She was a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi; a life member of the U.C.W. (Maude Jardine Unit); a Past Noble Grand as well as Executive member of Silver Link #61, Rebecca Lodge, L.O.B.A. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be sadly missed by six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Ruston (Guy), of Ocala, Florida, USA, Mrs. Mona MacInnis, of Miramichi, Mrs. Grace Mazerolle, of Moncton, Mrs. Elizabeth Desaulniers (Denis), of Halifax, N.S., Mrs. Marilyn McGerrigle (James), and Mrs. Jeanne Breau, all of Miramichi; two sons, Gordon Kingston (Patricia), of Miramichi and Kenneth Kingston, of Mount Forest, Ont.; twenty-four grandchildren; thirtyone great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Fraser, in 1982; five sisters, Esther, Myrtle, Jenny, Katherine and Ellen; five brothers, Thomas, Albert, John, Frank and George. Visiting will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Tuesday evening, from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Silver Link #61, Rebecca Lodge, will hold a service at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon, at 2:30 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, on Thursday, January 1, 2004, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Riverside Cemetery Fund, or any charity of the donors choice, would be appreciated by the family.
