Sister M. Francis McQuade SAINT JOHN, NB - The death of Sister M. Francis McQuade (Sr, M. Carmelita) occurred at Ruth Ross Residence, Saint John, on Friday, January 16, 2004. Sister was born in Irishtown, a daughter of the late James and Mary Augusta (Cameron) McQuade. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on August 15, 1929. She served at Mount Carmel Convent, the Mater Misericordiae Home, St. Peter's Convent, St. Joseph's Convent (West), and St. Vincent's Convent in Saint John; Rosary Hall in Fredericton; and Mary's Home in Moncton. Sr. McQuade taught kindergarten in Powell River, B.C., Vancouver, and in Saint John. She retired to Ruth Ross Residence in 1994. She was predeceased by one brother, Bryce McQuade; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Lecuyer, Mrs. Dorothy McArdle, and Mrs. Margaret Donovan. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Resting at St. Vincent's Convent, 31 Cliff St., Saint John, with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent's Chapel on Monday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in the Sisters of Charity Plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
