HOLMES - Doris Elizabeth
October 19, 1937 - February 22, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend on February 22, 2009 at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by her family. She will be loved and remembered by her son Dean; granddaughters Sarah and Stefani; sister Vera Sinclair; brother Robert (Sharon) Chapman; aunts Flora (Donald) Rusk, Francis (Neil Rusk); niece Mary Jean (Denis) Vegeant; nephew Bobby (Tamara) Chapman; a long time friend Marj Chrustz and a host of friends. Doris was predeceased by her parents Jean and Leonard Chapman; brother-in-law Don Sinclair; nephew Richard Chapman and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was born in Shellbrook on October 19, 1937 and raised in the Marchant Grove area north of Shellbrook. She attended public school at Rayside and high school in Shellbrook, after graduating she attended Park City Business College and later worked at Traders Finance and Motor Dealers Finance. She was an excellent cook, always trying new recipes, sharing with family and friends. Many hours were spent cross stitching wedding and baby announcements as well as many lovely pictures. She loved the countryside, sunrises, sunsets and picking wild berries in the wilderness. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 - 6th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Ron Goerzen officiating. Private Family Interment will be held at the South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 - 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
