Laurie Melanson Laurie Melanson, 80, of Kingsway Crescent, Moncton, passed away Tuesday February 17, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born December 18, 1923 in SainteMarie, he was the son of the late Clorice Melanson and the late Marie-Rose Dallaire. He was a retired master carpenter who enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and was a member of the Parkton Golden Age Club. He will be sadly missed by Aline (McDonald), his loving wife of 22 years; a daughter, Lauria Melanson (Normand LeBlanc) of Cocagne; a step-daughter, Ginette Leger (Serge Clavet) of Moncton; two step-sons, Bernard Leger of Moncton and Claude Leger (Paula) of Waltham, MA; three sisters, Aline Belliveau (Bill) of Shediac Bridge, Fernande Duval (Chet) of Waltham, MA, Gérène Plouffe (Françis) of Maynard, MA; three brothers, Alonzo (Dorine) of Bouctouche, Vincent (Bernice) of Lancaster, MA, Aldéric Melanson of Shediac; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Denis, Angèle, Josée-Aline, François, Anna-Lisa, Shelby, Matthew; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his first wife, late Bernice (Girouard) Melanson; a daughter, Lisa; two sons, Reginald, Wayne; a sister, Huberte Cormier, and a brother, Roger. Remains resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (8581900). Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Notre-Damede-Gr~ce Roman Catholic Church (Parkton). Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
