Constance Nelson Cowan
Constance Nelson Cowan 1910 - 2004 SACKVILLE, NB - Constance Nelson Cowan of the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, NB, and formerly of Riverview and Moncton, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2004. Born in Saint John on April 2, 1910, she was the only child of the late Charles Ketchum Cowan and Jane Elizabeth (Nelson) Cowan. She was employed with Canadian National Railway accounting department retiring in 1974 after 45 years of service. In her early years athletics played a prominent roll in her life, particularly tennis. Connie was involved with music as a soloist and member of her church choir. She was an avid bridge player, and traveled widely, having vacationed in the USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean. She was a member of St. Pauls United Church UCW (Riverview) and St. John's United Church, Moncton, Connie was member of the Westmoreland Chapter I.O.D.E. and was a former volunteer teacher at the school for the learning disabled. She is survived by cousins, Glen Cowan (Freda), Lois Shields, Audrey Cowan, Nelson Price (Marlene), Wally Homer (Mildred) and their families. By request there will be no visiting prior to the funeral service to be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. A reception will be held following the service in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
