The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, of Mrs. Catherine A. \"Kate\" Gallant (nee Peters) of Oyster Bed Bridge, in her 103rd year. Beloved wife of the late Frank Gallant. Loving mother of Vince Gallant of Oyster Bed Bridge, Bernice Sheehan of Oyster Bed Bridge, Pius (Joan) Gallant of Oyster Bed Bridge, Gladys (Edwin) Gallant of Cymbria, Eileen (Alcide) Arsenault of Cape Egmont, Agnes (Gerry) Elford of St. Thomas, ON, and daughter-in-law, Beverley Lannan of North Rustico. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Frank, she was predeceased by son, Francis Gallant; son-in-law, Buddy Sheehan; and great-grandchild, Darlene Jones. Resting at the St. Monica Chapel of St. Augustine Church, South Rustico, for visitation on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass from St. Augustine Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment at a later date in the family plot in the parish cemetery.
