Mrs. Mary Alice Nolan MIRAMICHI, NB - The death of Mrs. Mary Alice Nolan, wife of Pat Nolan of Percy Kelly Drive, Miramichi, NB occurred on Friday, May 7, 2004 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 62. Born in Chatam, NB she is the daughter of Margaret (Maillett) McCarthy and the late Dunn McCarthy. Mary Alice attended St. Sameul's Roman Catholic Church, was a retired school teacher with District #10, volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and the Breakfast Program with Gretna Green Elementary School. Her passions included oil painting, knitting, needle work, music and reading. Besides her husband and mother, Mary Alice is survived by two sisters, Rhona McCarthy of Chatam, NB, Shirley Ann Somers of Newcastle, NB; two brothers, Marven (Mary Ann) of Chatham, NB, Walter (Beth) of Chatham, NB and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Samuel's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, May 10, 2004 at 10 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
