Theda E. Ryder QUISPAMSIS, NB - Theda E. Ryder, 86, of Quispamsis and formerly of Salisbury passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28th, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. Theda was born in Lewis Mountain on July 13, 1917, wife of the late Robert B. Ryder. She was the youngest daughter of the late Nelson and Barbara (Bleakney) Alward. She is survived by her son, Stuart Ryder (Beth) of Halifax NS; three daughters, Marilyn Constantine (Stan) of Rothesay, Barbara Finlay (Doug) of Saint John and Janet Horsman (Myles) of Salisbury. Theda had 11 grandchildren, David, Debra, Leanne, Tracy, Brad, Christy, Kerri, James, Andrew, Adam and Lisa; seven great grandchildren, Evan, Connor, Janelle, Jillian, Charlie, Andrea and Luke. She was fondly remembered for her sugar cookies and hand knit woolen mittens. Theda was predeceased by her brothers, Tom, Bill, Perry, Roy, Nelson(Neltie); and sisters, Pearl and Nellie. Theda was a long time resident of Lewis Mountain, Salisbury and from 1993 the Saint John area. She was a member of the Lewis Mountain Baptist Church, Dominion life member of the W.M.S. and the Lewis Mountain Women's Institute and former member of the Golden Age Club in Salisbury. She was a faithful volunteer of the Kings Valley Wesleyan Meals on Wheels while she was a resident of King's Valley Manor. Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Rd. (372 4800) with visiting hours Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Salisbury Funeral Home on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Don Ingersoll officiating. Interment in Lewis Mountain Cemetery. Prior to moving to the Saint John area, Theda was the faithful secretary of the Lewis Mountain Cemetery, it is the family's wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the cemetery fund. www.keirsteads.ca
