Rita Gallant 1931 - 2004 ST. CHARLES, NB - Rita Gallant, wife of Leonard Gallant of St. Charles, NB, formerly of Saint John, passed away at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent, Monday, June 28, 2004 at the age of 73. Born in Neguac, NB, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert LeClerc and Angela (Breau) LeClerc. Rita was a past active member of many charitable organizations, such as Saint John Lakewood, Head Start, Literacy Council, Soup Kitchen, etc. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and very special great grandmother. She was a good friend and mentor to all who knew her. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Brenda Muxworthy (Sid) of Saint John, Angela Hachey (Allan) of Quispamsis; five sons, Ron (Pat) of Riverview, James, at home, Larry (Shirley), Paul (Albina), Patrick (Tracy) all of Saint John; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne Dickinson (Gerald) of Neguac, Evelyn Robichaud (late Reginald) of Neguac; one brother, Peter LeClerc (Pauline) of Toronto. She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, 33 Acadia St.. Richibucto with visitation on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday 9am until departure for funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromée Roman Catholic Church, St. Charles, on Saturday, July 3, 2004 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the Parish Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
