Mrs. Mary Kathleen (Wood) Dennis CHATHAM, NB - It is with great sadness that the family wishes to announce the death of Mrs. Mary Kathleen (Wood) Dennis of Chatham, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 3, 2004 at the age of 80, after a brief illness. Kathleen will be dearly missed but always remembered by her husband of 49 years, Lawrence Dennis; sons, Michael of Bathurst, Gregory (Kelly) of Chatham and daughter, Mary of Chatham. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Richard Dennis and Christopher Dennis as well as her brothers, David (Betty) Wood, James Wood, Kenneth Wood and sister, Bernadette (Daryl) Black. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Michael Wood; mother, Mary (McAuley) Wood and stepmother, Estella (Dennis) Wood; brothers, Carl, Bert, Arnold Wood and sister, Irene (Wood) Mellin. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Amanda-Lynn Dennis. Born in Chatham, Kathleen graduated from the Hotel Dieu Hospital Nursing program in 1945 and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Hotel Dieu Hospital and Mount Saint Joseph until her retirement in 1987. A member of Saint Michael's Basilica, Kathleen was a very quiet and private lady who enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. The family will receive visitors at Maher's Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral will take place at Saint Michael's Basilica on Thursday at 11am.
