Charles Emmerson

Charles Emmerson DORCHESTER - The death of Charles Emmerson, age 95, of Dorchester, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 9, 2004. Born in Toronto, he was the son of the late Senator Henry R. and Mrs. Faulein (Price) Emmerson. Charlie was a member of the Dorchester Seniors and a Life Member of the Dorchester Legion. A veteran of WW II, he served with the NB Rangers and Fort Gary Horse in England. He is a member of the Dorchester Baptist Church. He retired from the CN with 29 years service. Charlie was a fixture in the Dorchester Community and will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, the former Yvonne Cormier; three sons, Reginald (Bernice), Dorchester, NB, Roy (Nellie), Stroud, ON, Richard, Mitchell, ON; two daughters, Barbara (Keith) Tower and Brenda (Allain Leger) O'Brien, both of Dorchester, NB; one brother, John, (Chrystal), Moncton NB; two sisters, Margaret (Ted) Neve, Belwood, ON and Barbara (Keith) Dobson, Bathurst, NB, 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Deborah, and several brothers and sisters. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 11, 2004 at 11 am, Rev. Rick Marsters officiating. Burial in the St. Edward's Parish Cemetery, Dorchester. The Dorchester Legion will hold a memorial service Saturday at 7 pm. Donations to the Dorchester School Playground Fund gratefully accepted. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
