Iris Alta Fowler 1915 - 2004 Iris A. Fowler, 89, of ProTem Health Services, Mountain Rd. Moncton and formerly of Woodland Dr., passed away at ProTem Health Services on Monday, July 12, 2004. Born in Butternut Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ira S. and Edith (Frazee) Hicks. She was a former member of the Nursing Profession, having graduated from the Saint John General School of Nursing in 1937. Iris was a member of Central United Church in Moncton and she was a member of the U.C.W. She was a long time member of the Gyrette Club as well as a member of the M.C.A. Curling Association and she was a former member of the Moncton Golf and Country Club. She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Casey of Halifax, NS; one son, Mark and his wife, Jocelyn Fowler of Riverview; two sisters, Eileen Hall of New Hampshire, USA and Leah Fowler of London, ON; two brothers, Dr. Eric Hicks and his wife, Helen of Sussex, NB and Talmage Hicks of Moncton; six grandchildren, Gregory Fowler (Linda), Richard Fowler (Clare), Jason Fowler (Nancy), Erin Casey (Henk VanLeeuwen), Matthew Casey (Tracie) and Mark Casey; eight great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Hicks (Lorne) of Charlottetown, PEI and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Orley L. Fowler in 1989 and by three brothers, Graydon, Guy and Lorne Hicks; a sister, Henriette Berg and by a sister-in-law, Irma Hicks wife of Talmage. A Memorial Service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jim MacDonald officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends in the reception area of the funeral home following the service. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, Saint John, NB. Donations for Iris may be made to Alzheimer's Society or to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation.
