Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Monday, February 23, 2009. Florence, formerly of Campbellford. Born in Bloody Point, New Perlican, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland on October 12, 1917. Leaving to mourn are her children: Frances McMillen (Graham), Carol McCourt (Don) of Peterborough, Ont., Helen Strano (John) of Ennismore, Ont., Gordon McCourt (Suzanne) of Stirling, Ont. and Murray McCourt of Airdrie, Alta. Florence also leaves 8 grand children, nine great-grand children and a nephew, David White (Brenda) and their family of Portugal Cove N.L. Florence is predeceased by her husband Percy G. McCourt (1969), Campbellford, Ont., her parents Richard White (1954) and Minnie (nee Burridge) (1961) New Perlican, Trinity Bay, N.L., her sister Frances White (1985) and brothers John (Jack) White, St. JohnÕs, N.L., and Walter White (1988), New Perlican, Trinity Bay, Nfld. A private family service was held at the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 600 MONAGHAN ROAD S., PETERBOROUGH 705-745-3211.
