Wilfred Aucoin SHEDIAC, NB - The death of Wilfred Aucoin, 71, of Shediac, occurred Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Cheticamp, NS, May 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Christopher Aucoin and the late Emma Roach. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Canada Post as manager with 35 years service in Toronto, Campbellton, Moncton and Ottawa. He was a member of U.C.T. Council in Campbellton for 32 years, past president of the Campbellton Minor Hockey, and Campbellton Salmon Festival. He was also involved with Cheticamp Hospital and St-Pierre parish committees. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Claudette (Poirier) Aucoin; three children, Giselle Ayles (Jeff) of Brampton, ON, Robert (Lorraine Deland) of Orleans, ON, Garry (Lise) of Shediac; five sisters, Marie-Hélène Chiasson (Raymond), Rita Breininyer (Joseph), Lorette MacGilvray (Eugene) all of Cheticamp, NS, Elizabeth Nugent (Albert) of Sydney, NS, Thérèse McCue (Bill) of Hamilton, ON; two brothers, Albert of Oshawa, ON, Marcelin (Ethel) of Cheticamp, NS; six grandchildren, Jason, Sean, Justin, Jordan, Wesley, Kiana; several nieces and nephews. Remains are resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of departure (9:50). The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at StJoseph's Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
