Byron Geikie
Byron Geikie MIRAMICHI, NB - Byron Geikie, of Miramichi, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at the age of 65. Born in Miramichi, Byron was the son of Dorothy (Giggie) Geikie and the late Roy Geikie of Miramichi. Byron retired as a meat cutter for Sobey's. He was a member of the Wild Life Federation and an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Besides his mother, Byron is survived by two daughters, Aileen Geikie of Moncton, Lynn Geikie of Orono, Ont.; three sons, Paul Thomas of Moncton, Roy Thomas (Sue) of Richmond Hill, Ont., Byron Geikie Jr. of Calgary, AB; two sisters, Aileen Curtis (Al) of Derby, Dorothy Morgan of Miramichi; four granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Byron was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (McGill) and one brother, Gordon. The family will receive relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 1 p.m. from the Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Steeves officiating. As expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant St., telephone 622-7741.
