James Leo MacKay

James Leo MacKay 1924 - 2004 J. Leo MacKay, 80, of Riverview, passed away at the Grass Nursing Home, Sunday, September 12, 2004 after a lengthy illness. Born in Stellarton, NS, son of the late James P. and Mary (Hatch) MacKay. Leo was retired from CN as a Train Dispatcher with 48 Years service, a member of the Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, NS and attended St. Paul's United Church Riverview. Leo was a veteran of World War II having served with the RCAF, a member of the Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Assoc., the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28, Stellarton, NS, RCAF Assoc. in Stellarton, CN Pensioners and the Canadian Assoc. of Train Dispatchers for over 50 years. Leo will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Anna (MacKay); daughters, Mary Lee Whitman (David), Nepean, ON, Barbara Tubb, Riverview, Janice MacKay (Leo), Edmonton, AB; sons, Ralph (Rhonda), Riverview, Barry (Marsha), Pine Glen, Robert (Millie), Grande Barachois, Gary, Riverview; grandchildren, Fraser, Evan, Terri-Ann, John, Tricia, Lisa, Candace, Drew, James, Cole; two nieces, one nephew and several cousins. Leo was predeceased by brother Gerald. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995) Tuesday, September 14, 2004, 2 to 4, 7 to 9. Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Assoc will hold a Memorial service at 6:45 at the funeral home. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday 1:00 pm, Rev. Hugh Farquhar and Rev. Shawn Redden officiating, reception following service. Interment at Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, NS., Thursday at 2:00 pm.
