Melvin "Mike" Richard 1926 - 2004 Melvin Edward Richard, formerly of Elmwood Drive, passed away at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Sunday, September 26, 2004. Born in Charlottetown, PE, on May 7, 1926, he was the son of the late J. Arthur and Charlotte (Keenan) Richard. He was employed with CNT and the CNR for many years, retiring in 1984. Melvin was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling; was an avid hockey fan; was a long time member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church; and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria (Anderson) Richard; sons, Gordon "Gordie" (Lucille) of Moncton, Roderick "Rod" (Paulette) of Winnipeg; daughters, Sandra Partridge of Uxbridge, ON, Marilyn Savoy (Stephen) of Moncton, and Nancy Richard of Moncton; brother, Roland "Doc" (Evie) of Moncton; sisters, Barbara Richard (Norman) of Moncton, Shirley Doucette (Art) of Charlottetown, PE, Betty Randall (Pete) of Blackville, NB, and Pat Hennessey of Charlottetown, PE; grandchildren, Stacy, Diane, Katie, Michael, Monique, Khyell, Samuel, and Madelaine; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene "Toots" and John; and one sister, Janet Deware. Visitation for friends and family will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 10:00 AM from St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 150 Masters Road, Moncton. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in Melvin's memory may be made to a memorial of the donor's choice.
