Levi Joseph Clements 1921-2004 POINTE-DU-CHNE, NB - Levi Joseph Clements passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at home with his family at his side. Born on Shediac Island, August 2, 1921, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Fougère) Clements. Levi served overseas during World War II as a proud member of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. His unit was among the first to land during the D-Day invasion on the beaches of Normandy. He was taken prisoner and held for nearly a year in a Nazi prison camp. Following his service in World War II, he returned home to work as a joureyman carpenter for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #33, Shediac. He was a supporter of a variety of charities and his generous nature was apparent to all who knew him. He is survived by two daughters, Anne Marie Darlow (Frank) of Shediac and Flo Wajda (Paul) of Thompson, Manitoba; four grandchildren, Shannon, Ryan, Cole, Jolene, his beautiful greatgranddaughter Chloe; two step grandchildren, Keith and Frankie and two special nieces, Mary and Joan. He is also survived by three sisters, Yvonne, Nelda and Bertha and two brothers, Eli and Ivan. He was predeceased by his wife, Imelda (Brun) Clements (June 8, 2004), and by four brothers, Louis, Ted, Edmond and Leo. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Friday from 2 to 3:30p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Saturday from 10a.m. until time of depature (10:45a.m.).The funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Pointedu-Chne.
