Thaxter Johnson ALBERT MINES, NB- The death of Thaxter Johnson, age 86, of Albert Mines, NB, occurred at The Moncton City Hospital on Friday, November 12, 2004. Born in Port Elgin, NB, he was a son of the late Jacob and Margaret (Walton) Johnson. Thaxter enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. His passion was his workshop and he loved spending time with his family. Thaxter will be sadly missed by his seven sons, Thaxter Jr. (Sharon), Hamilton, Roderick (Grace), Midgic, Albert (Eunice), Sackville, Roy (Diane), Aulac, Edward (Brenda), Albert Mines, John (Judy), New Market and Ralph (Holly), Grand Bay; three daughters, Carolyn (Edward) Hicks, Sackville, Joan Fortman (Rae Anderson) and Margaret Johnson (Ray Angeline), both of Hamilton; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur, Oshawa. Thaxter was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Harper); and siblings, Ethel, Hazel, Myrtle, Kenneth and Ronald. A special thank you to daughters-inlaw, Albertine and Brenda; along with granddaughter, Tammy and friend, Paulette, for the many hours you spent caring for "PA" during his illness in the hospital. Visiting hours will take place on Monday, November 15, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB, (364-1300). The Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 11 am, officiated by Rev. Dean MacDonald of the Hillsborough First United Baptist Church.
