Ethel Georgie Maxwell 1912 - 2005 Ethel Maxwell, 92, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, January 10, 2005. Born in Steeves Mountain on April 13, 1912 she was the daughter of the late George and Ada (Taylor) Johnson. Ethel graduated from Teachers College Fredericton in 1933, taught school for a number of years, was employed in the food service industry and retired as a bookkeeper at the age of 75. She is survived by her son, Wendell (Alma) of Moncton; her daughter, Sheila Colwell (Gary) of Edmonton; sisters, Nettie Hicks and Minnie Steeves, both of Moncton; two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Amy; two grandsons, Jason of San Diego, CA and David of New Haven, CT; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Judson T. Maxwell in 1964; sisters, Edna E. Lutes, Annie O. Nichol, Zella D. Sherwood, Rose M. Sherwood, and Ida P. Shaffer; and brothers, Milton W. Johnson, Gerald A. Johnson, G. Thomas Johnson, Lorimer W. Johnson. With respect for Ethel's wishes, there will not be any visitation prior to the Funeral Service to be held from the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, January 14, 2005 at 2:00PM. A reception following the service will be held in the Garden View Room of the funeral home. Interment Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
