George A. Way

George A. Way 1924 - 2005 George Arthur Way, 80, of Moncton, husband of Lois (Kent) Way passed away Friday, March 11, 2005 at The Moncton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Cape Tormentine, N.B. on October 22, 1924, he was the son of the late Arthur Roach Way and the late Juanita (Tait) Way. George served in the Canadian Navy World War II. He retired from the CNR Express in 1980 after 34 years of service, and Day & Ross Inc. after nine years in 1989. He was a member of Allison Baptist Church, Salisbury Road, Moncton, CNR Pensioners Association and The Canadian Legion. In his early years, he was very active in baseball and hockey. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, Lois of 56 years; son, John (Cathie) Way; daughter, Judy (Francis) Gracie; seven granddaughters, Carrie, Tracie, LeeAnn, Katie, Robin, Stephanie and Heather; great grandchildren, J.J (Justin), Trinity, Kohl, Blake, Colton, Destiny, Jazlyn, Brooklyn and Noah. He is also survived by one sister, Marion (Stirling) Sweet of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Ashlyn; sisters, Doris Johnson of Sudbury Ont. and Winnifred Taylor of Riverview. Visitation at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15, 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2005, 2:00pm at Allison Baptist Church, Salisbury Road. Rev. David Morehouse officiating. Reception to follow in the Family Center of Allison Baptist Church, 1539 Salisbury Road. Donations may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital, Allison Baptist Church or a memorial of the donor's choice.
