Frances Leona Matheson MIRAMICHI, NB - The death of Frances Leona Matheson, wife of the late Charles Matheson of King George Highway, Miramichi, NB, occurred at her late residence on Friday, March 25, 2005 at the age of 91. Born in Bartibog, NB she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Mahoney) Barry. Frances was a homemaker who attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, she was a Columbian Lady, member of the St. Mary's CWL and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #10 Ladies Auxiliary. Frances is survived by eight daughters, Vivian Lanphier (Ken) of Courtney, BC, Marion White of Dartmouth, NS, Elizabeth Wells of Pearl City, Hawaii, Frances Robertson of Bowlingreen, KY, Leona Goulet (Romeo) of Trenton, ON, Marguerite Somerville of Darthmouth, NS, Paula Dube (Robert) of Victoria, BC, Anne Breau (Bernard) of Williamstown, NB; six sons, Barry (Georgie), Roy (Bunnie) both of Miramichi, NB, Fred of Barrie, ON, Beverly of Miramichi, NB, Ronnie (Edna) of Saskatoon, SK, Paul (Deborah) of Miramichi, NB; one daughter-in-law: Mary Matheson of Miramichi, NB; sisters, Marcella Scully (Terrance) of Virginia Beach, VA, Rita Begin (Gilles) Bartibog, NB; 45 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Besides her husband; she is predeceased by, daughter, Frances Jean; son, Charles Jr.; daughter-in-law, Ann; sister Leona Clemens; step-sister, Connie Preston; step-brothers, Jack, Beverly and Raymond Reynolds. The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 11 am with Father Sam Diotte officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery later in the spring.
