Everett John Smith 1925 - 2005 HILLSBOROUGH, NB - Everett John Smith, 80, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on April 8, 2005 at The Moncton City Hospital with his loving family by his side after a brief illness. Everett was born in Gowland Mt., Albert County, N.B. on February 24, 1925 the son of the late William and Tina (Harrison) Smith. Everett worked as a Maintenance Machinist for 25 years with the Canadian Gypsum Company, then worked for 10 years with Robertson Machinery Co. until his retirement. He was a welder and could fix anything he got his hands on. He was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. Everett was known for his quiet thoughtful nature and was valued by all who met him. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed times at his camp. Most of all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He especially treasured all the times spent with his family. His grandchildren had a very special place in his heart. Everett will be forever missed, but will live on in our hearts forever. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 51 years, Joyce (Steeves) Smith; his three loving daughters, Sandra Milburn (Wayne) of Moncton, Linda Steeves (Dennis Dixon) of Hillsborough and Shirley Trenholm (Steven) of Riverview; also by his six precious grandchildren, Jeremy Milburn (Leslie), Nathan Milburn, Ryan Trenholm, Lindsey Steeves, Justin Steeves and Curtis Steeves; his four sisters, Ella Smith, Peachy Marr (Milton), Jean Black, Bertha Lewis; his three brothers, Carl, Lewis (Myrla), Oran; his four sisters-inlaw, Marion Smith, Glendine White (Herman), Catherine Steeves, Florence Pleadwell (Fred); and brother-in-law, Norman Steeves. He will also be deeply missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law and motherin-law, Curtis and Sadie Steeves; his four brothers, Bill, Lloyd, Seward and Tim; sister, Edna Stewart (Charles); sisters-in-law, Ernestine, Margaret and Helen; brothers-in-law, Reginald Milton, Wilfred Steeves, Clayton Lewis, Chester Black, and Ross Smith. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, April 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 1pm with Rev. Kevin Mahoney officiating and Pastor Leonard Geldart assisting. The interment will be held at the Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. Donations to the NB Lung Association or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
