Passed peacefully away on Monday, March 2, 2009, James Bell Saunders, aged 102 years. Predeceased by his wife Flora Pearl in 1985; daughter-in-law Millicent in 1973. Leaving to mourn sons Jesse (Myra) and Donald (Daisy); three grandchildren: Cheryl Pike (Bob), Jacqueline Williams (Tony) and Jim Saunders (Dawn); five great-grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew and Stephen Pike; Alycia and Adam Williams; two special friends Barbara and Lawrence Riley, also a number of nieces, nephews and friends especially his friends at Hillcrest Estates, Mount Pearl. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Visitation and Reception Centre, 1045 topsail Road, Mount Pearl from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday. Funeral service from Church of the Ascension, Mount Pearl on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
