It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dolena ‘Dolly’ Miller, 76 , of Glace Bay on February 26, 2009 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Glace Bay, Dolly was the daughter of the Noah Eldon and Lydia Jane (Woorth) King. She was employed in the house keeping department of the Glace Bay General Hospital and was a member of Epworth United Church.
Dolly is survived by her companion, Neil Dearing; sons, Gary (Donna), Glace Bay, Leslie (Sharon), Oromocto N.B. and David (Cathy), Thornton Ont.; sister, Jean (Mrs. George Burte), Glace Bay; brothers, William (Theresa) and Fred (Kay), both of Glace Bay. Dolly is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dolly was predeceased by sisters, Doris, Gloria, Shirley and Helen and first husband, Ervin Miller.
There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay, 849-7520 and funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Goodfellow officiating. Interment to take place at a later date.
