Kevin Brian Loat

Kevin Brian Loat 1951 - 2005 Kevin B. Loat of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at the age of 53 years. Born in Moncton, NB on December 24, 1951 he was the son of the late Albert Leslie and Marion (Louise) Lane. He was a member of The Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Kevin was a retired accountant. He was a member of the Moncton Lions Club with 28 years of service, and he has held every office on the board of directors, including all club committees. He was club president in 1989-1990, and was secretary and treasurer several times. He has received many awards over the years including life member of the Lions International, life member of the Lions Foundation of Canada, the Melvin Jones Award, Lion of the Year, and recently received the Hugh & Florence Reardon Fellowship Award for Excellence presented by the C.N.I.B. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Loat of Fredericton; son, Eric Loat of Moncton; three sisters, Shirley Jordan of Florida, Marilyn Loat of Calgary and Sharon and her husband, Bruce Sowerby of Riverview, also by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Gloria in 1999. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Thursday, June 23, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm, the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be holding parish prayers and sharing of memories of Kevin at 8:30pm on Thursday evening at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church on Friday, June 24, 2005 at 10:00 am with Father Phil Mulligan Officiating. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Kevin's memory donations made to The Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by his family.
