Clovis "Shorty" Bastarache
Clovis "Shorty" Bastarache Clovis "Shorty" Bastarache, 86, of Moncton passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005 as a result of a car-pedestrian accident. Born January 28, 1919 in Moncton, he was the son of the late William and Éliza (Cormier) Bastarache. "Shorty" was a retired supervisor at Co-op Atlantic prior to his retirement and was a veteran of WW2. He enjoyed taking walks, reading, and all kinds of sports. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Lorraine Bastarache (late Francis) of Moncton; many friends, nieces, and nephews. He was the last survivor of his immediate family of 10. Resting Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 27, 2005 at 10 a.m., Father Yvon Cormier officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. The Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No.5, will hold a service of remembrance Sunday evening at 7 p.m. from Frenette's.
