Gerald F. LeBlanc 1924 - 2005 The death of Gerald F. LeBlanc, 80, of Archibald Street, Moncton occurred suddenly on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at his residence. Born October 1, 1924 in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Camille LeBlanc and the late Alvina Bourgeois. Jerry also was a commercial traveler for a number of years for Irving Oil and Abitibi Power & Paper and prior to retirement, he was in management in the food service industry and prided himself with his creativity in display-design in produce departments. Jerry was a former active member of the Lion's Club International and the United Commercial Travelers. He will be sadly missed by his long - time friend and companion, Verna Simms of Moncton; by his daughter, Gayle Mitton (Myron Mitton); his son, Gerry LeBlanc of Dieppe; two brothers, Norman (Nicky) of Moncton and Paul of California; and by his sister-in-law, Hazel LeBlanc. Six wonderful grandchildren, Melanie, Jennifer, Kristy, TeriAnne, Megan and Mallory are saddened by this unexpected loss of their grandfather. Three nieces, Ann, Patricia and Cathy; and a nephew, David also survive Jerry. He was predeceased by, Kathleen Short (nee Herman), his children's mother; and one brother, Raymond. Jerry loved to golf and travel and was a wonderful "story-teller." He had a special gift of engaging family, friends and strangers alike, in warm and humorous conversations. The many people who cared for him as he journeyed with his medical challenges loved Jerry. During his lengthy stays at The Moncton Hospital, he was always grateful for every person who had a role in his healing and well-being. "Gerald was a man who had lost his own ability to walk and was happy for, and smiled at, those who could!" Funeral Mass will be held from the Assumption Cathedral Roman Catholic Church, St. Georges Street, Moncton, Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 11:00 am.
