Josephine AuCoin, 59, formerly of New Waterford, died peacefully Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Glades Lodge, Halifax.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Beatrice (Poirier) AuCoin.
She is survived by her sisters, Leona (Jack Macdonald), Toronto, Monica (Dale Smith), Halifax; nephews, Shane (Jessica) and Todd Smith, Halifax; and her uncle, Paul/’Midi’ (Yvonne) Poirier, Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
She was predeceased by her brother, Willie Joe AuCoin (2001).
Visitation will take place Thursday, March 5 from 1-2 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford, 862-6439, with Deacon Leo Penny officiating.
Josephine was a former longtime resident of Braemore Home, Sydney River. She endeared herself to all who knew her and will be sadly missed by her family, friends and staff of both the Glades Lodge and Braemore Home. Josie has ‘gone home’.
