Joseph Avila Brideau Joseph Avila Brideau, 95 years, of Moncton, and formerly of Saint John and Pokemouche, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, August 1, 2005. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. He was born at Pont Landry, a son of the late Hypolite and Adenise (St. Pierre) Brideau. He was a proud member of the International Longshoremen's Association Local 273 and had been a crane operator for more than 40 years. He was predeceased by five brothers, Anthony, Domicien, Vincent, Alphonse and Eddy; two sisters, Geraldine Fereshetian and Yvonne Martin; and his beloved grandson, Don Brideau. He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Bertha Maillet; his children, Jeanne Brideau of Ste. Anne de Kent, Joanne (Stuart Bird) of Costa Rica, Lawrence of Notre Dame de Kent, and Irene (Lyle Huestis) of Moncton; his sister, Emily Duguay of Scarborough, Ont.; and his brother, Thomas of Saint John; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., Saint John, E2L 3P8 (506-634-1965) with visiting on Wednesday from 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday morning, August 4, 2005 at twelve o'clock.
