William "Bill" J. Doherty SAINT JOHN, NB - The death of William "Bill" James Doherty of Saint John, husband of the late Beulah E. (Gibson) Doherty, occurred on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late John J. and Cora Victoria (Coulsey) Doherty. Mr.Doherty was a Master Parts Salesman with Lawson Motors for 40 years before his retirement in 1982. He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the Canadian Army and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64 and St. Pius X Church. He is survived by one son, Bill (Debbie) of Riverview; one daughter, CarolAnn Doherty of Saint John; two sisters, Althea Steeves of Saint John and Mary Barrett of Fredericton; two granddaughters, Megan Chorney (Steve) and Bronwyn Doherty; one great granddaughter, Jennifer; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday 7 to 9 PM and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, Saint John, on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran service on Sunday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. www.brenansfh.com
