Sadie I. Douthwright 1917-2005 Sadie Douthwright, wife of Gorham Douthwright of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, September 29, 2005, following a lengthy illness. Born in Little Salmon River, NB, July 14, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William and Daisy (Dunn) Leggett. Sadie retired from Neil MacKay's Jeweler's, Main Street Moncton, following many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed bingo and was an avid bowler. Sadie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and her husband of 53 years, Gorham; her daughter, Marlene Lowery (George) of Darlings Island, NB; her son, Gordon Thorne (Mildred) of Riverview; sisters, Audrey Parlee of Moncton, Alma Keirstead (Merritt) of Riverview; brother, Lawson Leggett (Joan) of Trenton, ON; grandchildren, Timothy, Stephen, Linda, Cindy, Jason, Jeremy; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Verna and Alice. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visiting hours today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, as well as Saturday, October 1, 2005 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. A reception for Sadie's friends and family will follow the service in the Garden View Reception room of the funeral home. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NB would be appreciated. Internment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
