Blaine Hicks SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Blaine P. Hicks, age 77, of Sackville, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 30, 2005. Born in Midgic, he was a son of the late Henry and Dolly (Sears) Hicks. A community minded person, he was a 38 year member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, a Boy Scout leader for 35 years, and active in the Main Street Baptist Church since 1978. Blaine was the recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award, The Good Neighbour's Award and New Brunswick Day Volunteer Award. He was formerly employed with the Drew Nursing Home and Enterprise Foundry retiring in 1993. Blaine will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Pauline (Hicks), Sackville; a brother, Austin (Joan); and a sister, Elaine Landry, both of Sackville; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Brian Perry in 1951 and by a sister, Yvonne; a brother-in-law, Edward and sister-in-law, Carol. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300), with visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Main Street Baptist Church on Monday, October 3, 2005 at 2 pm, Pastor Barry Todd officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.
