Elmo "Ted" D'Lyle Knowlton 1921-2005 RIVERSIDE-ALBERT, NB - Elmo "Ted" D'Lyle Knowlton, 84, of Forest Dale Home, formerly of Hillsborough, passed away on October 17, 2005 at the Moncton Hospital with his loving family by his side. Elmo "Ted" was born in New Horton, Albert County on August 8, 1921 the son of the late Jesse and Mary (Anderson) Knowlton. He worked for the Canadian Gypsum Company until his retirement. Ted was a member of the Curryville United Church, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #32, Hillsborough and the Senior's Club in Albert Mines. He was an avid gardner and enjoyed times spent outdoors hunting, fishing and times at the camp. He also treasured times spent with his family. He was known for his story telling and his great sense of humour. He was a special man who will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lavinia (Hawkes) Knowlton of Hillsborough; his four daughters, Bettyanne Rossiter (John) of Alma, Marie Dixon (Gene) of Riverside-Albert, Verna Elliott (Parker) of Ontario, Bonnie Dixon (Brent) of Stilesville; his two sons, Donald Hawkes (Joan) of Stilesville and Gerald Knowlton (Hollis) of Hillsborough; his three sisters, Greta Brewer of Ontario, Helen Nelson of Moncton and Cora Budd (Arnold) of New Westminister, BC; his brother, Melvin Knowlton (Mabel) of Hillsborough; he will also be missed by his 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant son, Elmo Jr.; grandsons, Jeffrey Dixon and Steven Christopher; brothers, Perry, Edward, Morris and William; sisters, Pearl, Laura, Sadie and Ruby. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 2pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart officiating. Internment will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape. The family will be meeting with relatives and friends following the service for further sharing of memories and refreshments at the funeral home. Donations to the Mountain View Cemetery, Forest Dale Home or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
