Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, March 03, 2009, Mrs. Elsie Dorothy Mercer of Bay Roberts, aged 92 years. Predeceased by her parents George and Winnifred Sheppard (nee Noseworthy); husband Albert Mercer, son Ian (died in childhood), sister Florence (Clarence) Sterling, brothers William (Mary) and Eric. Leaving to mourn sons: Eric (Shirley), Douglas (Ella); daughters: Yvonne (Ralph) Holmes, Florence Mercer (Glenn McDougal), Phyllis (Jim) Alyward, Marilyn Butt, Sheree (Lloyd) Barrett; eight grandchildren: Gregory, Billy, Deborah, Chad, Aaron, Chantel, Cindy, Darryl; six great-grandchildren: Sarah, Rebecca, Billy, Valerie, Zachery, Liam; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Moore’s Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Visitation Thursday 2-5 p.m., 7-9 p.m., Friday 10-12 noon, 2-5 p.m., 7-9 p.m., Saturday 10-12 Noon. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, March 7 , 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Bay Roberts. Interment in the St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery, Bay Roberts.
