Gerald C. Herman CD 1919 - 2005 Gerry (Shorty) Herman of Carney Ave, Moncton and Caissie Cape passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 14, 2005 at the age of 86. Born in Turtle Creek, he was the son of Clifford and Laurena (Berry) Herman. He retired with NBLCC as District Supervisor in Fredericton. Gerry served in the Second World War as a PTE with the 14th Field Ambulance R.C.A.M.C. He was active for many years with the Army Militia, Acacia Lodge, Board of Stewards at Mountain View United Church and Legion Branch #6. His most enjoyable times were at the cottage with family & friends. He is survived by daughters, Sandra (Ron) Rain and Donna (Harold) Parker; grandchildren, Kerrilee (Guy) Auger, Whistler, BC, Kelli Rain, Vancouver, Ron Parker and Jana Parker; great grandchildren Melanie and Alex Auger. He is also survived by a brother, Donald; sister, Gladys Baston, great aunt, Della Stevens and special friend Elsie Leaman and her family. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Ada; brother, Harold (Tex); sisters, Helen Norris and Kaye (LeBlanc) Short. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, November 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a Legion Memorial Service at 6:50 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 2 o' clock from the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (Oncology) and The Dr. G. L.
