The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 of Esther Arvilla Ridler (nee Stewart) of Summerside and formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba, aged 81 years. Esther was born in Woodstock, Ontario on July 22nd, 1927 to her late parents, Earl & Winnifred (nee Speck) Stewart. Beloved wife of Walter Ridler & loving mother of Duncan (Pat) of Cranbrook, B.C., Stewart (Sarah) of Linkletter, P.E.I., & Mavis Ridler of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Also lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. Survived by her sisters Winnifred Daniels of Ingersoll, Ont., & Jean Smith of P.E.I. and her brothers Don (Teeny) Stewart of Woodstock, Ont., & Allister Stewart of Kitchener, Ont. By family request, there will be no visiting hours held. A private memorial service will be held at the East Prince Funeral Home Chapel, Summerside. Memorial donations in Esther’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
